How it Works
How does the Call4Care service work?
A panic button alarm, that activates our call system at our 24 hour Response Centre when pushed, is worn unobtrusively as a pendant around your neck or as a wristband. In an emergency, by pressing the button just once, the mobile alarm will use radio signal to activate the special “Carephone” within your home.
The Carephone is linked to our 24 hour Response Centre via your telephone line. It enables communication between you and us at all times of the day and night. In an emergency it also acts as a microphone and loudspeaker, allowing the Response Centre to hear and speak to you (the volume can also be adjusted by the Response Centre in the event that you are in another room). Your normal telephone continues to operate as usual.
Through your Carephone, staff at the Response Centre will ask you what is wrong. Because your unit is uniquely coded, they will already know who you are and where you live, so that they can get the appropriate help to you without wasting any time. If they cannot make contact with you they will firstly contact one of your nominated responders. If the responders are unavailable, they will alert the emergency services if appropriate. If the call is a false alarm (you may have pressed your button by mistake), our staff at the Response Centre will ask you some questions to make sure that you are okay, and once they are satisfied they will end the call.
What happens when you activate the alarm?
Once we have received an alarm call from you, our operator will try to speak to you through the two-way speaker that is on your unit. If they get no response from this method of trying to contact you then they will try and call on your landline telephone. Again if they get no response, or they are not assured that everything is alright, then they will call your responders, until they have made contact and are assured that somebody is on their way round to your property to make sure that you are alright. Call4Care is experienced and dedicated in elderly care, and our state-of-the-art call system provides our clients with complete peace of mind.

"I felt my wife was slipping into unconsciousness. It was touch and go. Had it not been for Call4Care she would not be here today. The medics stabilized her before taking her by ambulance to hospital. Today she’s baking me a cake!!"
